Our hospital's Cardiology Department has been serving the public since 1962 with its 24-hour emergency service, coronary intensive care unit, and inpatient wards. We provide outpatient services with 9 Cardiology clinics and 1 hypertension/check-up clinic every weekday. In addition, we perform examinations to diagnose cardiovascular diseases using methods such as echocardiography, electrocardiography, exercise ECG (stress test or treadmill ECG), Holter monitoring (Ambulatory ECG), and Nuclear Cardiological examinations (Thallium test).

In echocardiographic examination, the heart's valves, contractions, chambers, and other structures and functions can be evaluated using ultrasound waves. Furthermore, for cases requiring more advanced investigation, such as artificial heart valves or the possibility of blood clots in the heart, transesophageal (performed through the esophagus) echocardiographic examination is also performed in our clinic's echocardiography laboratory.

Holter monitoring involves taking ECG recordings of a patient for 24 hours or longer as needed, using a portable recorder. In the Holter Laboratory, the recordings are carefully evaluated to investigate rhythm disturbances related to symptoms or ECG findings indicative of coronary artery disease. In the exercise stress test laboratory, the diagnosis and progression of coronary artery disease can be monitored using treadmill exercise equipment.

Furthermore, functional capacity assessment can be performed in valvular heart disease and heart failure. In the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, using radioactive materials such as thallium 201 or technetium 99, the blood supply, viability, and contraction of various parts of the heart can be evaluated in both patients with and without exercise using pharmacological methods (such as dipyridamole and dobutamine). Our clinic provides inpatient services with a total of 154 beds, 114 of which are standard and 40 are fee-based.

18 of these beds are used as intermediate intensive care units. Our two coronary intensive care units, with a total of 30 beds, provide treatment and monitoring for patients requiring emergency intervention due to cardiovascular disease (such as heart attacks, heart blocks, life-threatening arrhythmias, and serious valvular diseases). All types of emergency procedures, including the placement of temporary pacemakers and cardiopulmonary catheters under fluoroscopy, can be performed 24 hours a day. Our coronary intensive care units are staffed by resident and specialist doctors and numerous nurses.
